Alex Shearns and Andrew Whittaker completed the event, which saw them navigate 30 obstacles, including a giant ice bath, the tallest obstacle ever used, a pool of water with 10,000 volts of electricity running through it and a smoke chamber, to name but a few.
The guys raised £325 for Macmillan Cancer, a charity close to Alex, as his dad John who also worked at Solomons, was supported by the charity. Sadly, John passed away on the 6th of July and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Andrew and Alex have entered the 2023 Tough Mudder and will raise money for Rossendale Hospice. It assisted John and his close family through what was a very tough time.
Alex said: “We want to raise as much money as possible to help us raise money to donate to Rossendale hospice, to help them carry on the amazing work they do. Any contribution to this cause will mean so much to us. If anyone is interested in joining us in the Tough Mudder event, please contact us to find out how you can get involved.”
A gofundme page has been set up to help raise funds. Donations can be made using gofund.me/5bc16b3e. If you’d like to take part in Tough Mudder or want to help with fundraising, please email andy.whittaker@solomoncommercials.co.uk
