In a bold step toward sustainable, smarter logistics, Holdsworth Foods has unveiled three future-forward temperature-controlled vehicles, custom built by Solomon Commercials, reinforcing its commitment to efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

Holdsworth Foods has operated as a family owned and run independent food service supplier since 1969. Based in the UK, the company serves hospitality and catering businesses nationwide. With a strong focus on reliability, customer service, and innovation, Holdsworth Foods actively supports and invests in modern, sustainable transport solutions.

The company’s long-term environmental approach is exemplified by the addition of three new HGVs featuring ECOOLTEC’s natural refrigeration technology. The new vehicles, two 18-tonne DAF XB290s and one 26-tonne DAF XD340, are equipped with dual-temperature evaporators to ensure optimal product integrity across diverse loads.

All three vehicles feature Solomon Commercials insulated box bodies, designed with enhanced aerodynamics, non-slip seamless flooring, heavy-duty load restraint systems, and premium stainless-steel fittings for durability.

Driver safety and operational efficiency are prioritised through a comprehensive 4-camera MDR system with in-cab 7” monitor, white-noise reversing alarms, and strategically positioned LED lighting for optimal visibility during loading and unloading. Each vehicle also includes a tail lift with automatic rollstops and drop-in safety rails for secure, ergonomic handling of goods.

The new fleet members also incorporate Solomon Commercials movable and stowable bulkhead system for flexible load separation, along with bespoke livery in line with Holdsworth Foods’ branding.

“ These vehicles mark a revolutionary, sustainable, and safer advancement in our logistics capabilities,” said
Millicent Holdsworth, Compliance Director at Holdsworth Foods.
“ Our partnership with Solomon Commercials ensures our fleet meets the highest standards for food safety, driver welfare, and operational efficiency. At the same time, we’re delivering on our commitment to cutting carbon emissions and operating more sustainably, from investing in new technologies for our fleet and site refrigeration, to installing solar PV panels at our sites and exploring alternative fuels for our vehicles.”

Matthew Jones, Sales Manager at Solomon Commercials, added:
“ As two family-run businesses with more than four decades of collaboration, we’re proud to once again help Holdsworth Foods enhance their fleet. These vehicles not only deliver outstanding performance and reliability but also align perfectly with Holdsworth Foods’ drive for a cleaner, more sustainable future.”
