Solomon Commercials has successfully delivered 13 custom built 3.5-tonne temperature-controlled vehicles for Rowley Contracts, supporting the logistics of iconic British brand Holland’s Pies.

Built on Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis and equipped with Carrier Transicold Xarios 350 refrigeration systems, these refrigerated vehicles have been tailored to meet the specific needs of Holland’s Pies’ chilled distribution.

Each van is equipped with custom designed shelving that holds up to 216 pie and pudding nets, developed in close collaboration with Holland’s team to ensure the products remain in their nets from bakery to delivery, supporting a smooth and efficient production process.

Another standout feature is the uniquely designed wing-style door, which provides cover for the driver and goods while sorting the next delivery, offering protection from the elements.

Safety, Functionality, and Finish

Hollands pies vans are equipped with an array of driver safety aids including forward-facing and rear-view cameras, micro-switched interior LED lighting, and exterior warning lights to enhance safety during loading and unloading.

Each body has been finished in Solomon White high-gloss panels, with cabs prepped for custom Holland’s green branding, coordinated via a weekly cab swap system to maintain operational continuity during rollout.

Ongoing Partnership with Excellence

“ We’re proud to support the continued success of Holland’s Pies and Rowley Contracts with vehicles designed for purpose,” said Neil Ormerod, Sales Manager at Solomon Commercials. “This build reflects our ongoing commitment to engineering reliable, efficient, and compliant cold chain solutions, truly built with the customer in mind.”

The 13 vehicles are covered by Whole Vehicle Type Approval and meet the latest standards in chilled food transport, driver comfort, and fleet durability.
